PlayStation 3 & 4 to Let You Stream Games to Your Android Phones and Tablets—Beta Starts This Month

The folks over at Sony gave a little teaser of what could be, introducing Playstation Now at this year's CES event in Las Vegas.

According to the PlayStation blog, PlayStation Now will function as a streaming game service.

"With PlayStation Now, you will be able to stream popular hits and classic games from the PS3 library, first on PS4 and PS3 systems, followed by PS Vita."

This streaming would allow players to play compatible games across multiple devices, rendering the need for a disc a thing of the past. Notable for some, is the ability to stream PS3 titles on the PS4 via the Now streaming system. Little is known about what folks with hard copies can do to get the streaming version, but I do hope there is at least a discount for purchasing the digital versions.

PlayStation Now will most likely be a subscription based service, although no price has been revealed.

PlayStation Now will start a beta program later in January, with a full launch set for some time this summer. For now, anxious users will have to wait an see just how awesome this streaming service really is.

We will keep you posted on updates when available.
